My family has a vegetable garden in our backyard and we are trying to grow the plants without any chemicals etc. We think there are moles digging in the garden…is there anything we can do that is natural?

They do have pegs you can stick in the ground that emit a soundwave that’s supposed to be irritating to the mole. I don’t know how well they work, though. You could try flooding their tunnels, but that’s possibly killing them. I don’t know how lethal you wanna get here. Do you know anybody with bloodhounds? Bloodhounds are -great- molers.

Get some cats and let them run around outside, they will get them sooner or later,

Every single morning and even evening or anytime for that matter, go outside and stomp their little mounds down. Stomp them down pretty hard. You probably won’t stomp them as they will just run around their tunnel and go away. Stomp their homes enough, they’ll find somewhere else to live.

We used to have moles in our yard.

I’ve heard that if you dig up part of the hole and put a partially chewed up piece of minty chewing gum, they will run away….but I dunno about that.

Moles avoid castor beans, castor plants and castor oil. My former neighbor used to plant castor plants in his yard to deter moles.

Castor oil granules. Organic and they work, plus they’re really easy to apply. Moles **** the smell and move away.

If you in fact have moles, not gophers, the really sure control is to trap them. The sonic repellers do not work since the animal grows accustomed to the noise in a short time. Moles are insect and worm eaters so chewing gum is not attractive to them and if you plant Castor be aware that the plant and it’s bean is highly toxic. As few as three beans is enough to kill a small child. Gophers are more common in the vegetable garden than moles, which you usually see in lawn turf. If it is gophers and you are serious about natural/organic, then traps is still the answer. Otherwise they are easy to poison.
